Staying at my bros place in ATL. It’s been awhile since I slept somewhere with a view of a city right out my window. I miss that.
Watchmen getting some prime shelf space at Hudson bookstore. Nice. http://twitpic.com/1qa3s
Our view in Reno. It’s the National Bowling Stadium, I kid you not. http://twitpic.com/1ofde
Our hotel rents video games in the rooms. That’s cool. But they are for the N64. Uh…
We did manage to get a cab to take us through the drive-through of the Reno In-N-Out Burger on the way to the hotel. So worth it.
A $50 hotel room in a Reno casino is just about as nice as you’d expect it to be.
Heading to Reno tomorrow for a meeting. I hope I see Deputy Travis Junior while I’m there.

I love Sean Penn, but Mickey Rourke got robbed.
If you’re ever in Denver, do yourself a favor and visit Illegal Grounds coffee shop. It’s got an awesome atmosphere (it’s an old house)
Drinking green tea from a little pellet that “blooms” into a flower. Maybe I’m behind the curve, but this is totally new to me.
Green tea from a “blooming” flower. Not sure how I feel about it. http://twitpic.com/1n3wp
I love Things (http://culturedcode.com/things/) but man oh man, that name is impossible to Google for
The Oscar pool I got roped into gives x points for each correct pick, so the best strategy is to pick the most likely winners …
…next year, they could negate unfair(?) use of prediction markets by giving more points for picking less likely winners (i.e. be a market)
Plus, frankly, I’m more intrigued with the predictive powers of markets than who wins the Oscars. My nerdy side wins again.
Is this cheating? I never got around to seeing most Oscar picks this year, so it’s either this or picking somewhat randomly.
Last year, I picked my Oscar winners based on a statistical model. This year, I’m seeing if prediction markets fare any better

Hanging out at Boulder.rb. Having fun, but disappointed that I forgot about The Big Lebowski at the Boulder Theater. Again.
Just realized the 918 area codes are bad news. It turns out it’s quite easy to accidentally dial 911 on accident.
Also,it doesn’t help that this DMV is the centerpiece in the most soul-crushingly sad mall in CO.
The DMV is a hell hole. This is the place where anything approaching productivity goes to die.
After 2 hours, I’m finally done. I will say all the DMV employees were incredibly nice to me.
After I waited for 1.5 hours to get a license, they’ve messed up my name and had to redo it. Twice. Oh, DMV. Like the post office but worse

Whoa, TechStars is opening an office in Boston? I didn’t see that coming. In any case, great to see TS expanding - congrats!
Just used the IntenseDebate installation walk-through to add comments to my Tumblr blog. So simple and easy - very nice.

Finally reading a whole assortment of articles that I opened in browser tabs this week but didn’t get a chance to read.

Gmail’s “Forgotten Attachment Detector” just did its job. Such a simple, but cool feature.
Twitter auto URL-shortening is useless. If URL is short enough to fit, I want real URL to show. If its too long I have to shorten it myself!

Thinking about applying to TechStars? Do it! It’s an awesome experience. DM me if you have any questions about it.
Why would Apple sell a gift card that could be used at the Apple Store but not the iTunes store? That just seems confusing and anti-customer
After putting it off for 2 months, filing all my documents took a grand total of only one hour. Procrastination is so dumb.
I can code for hours upon hours and feel fine, but somehow just 30 minutes of filing and organizing papers seems like an impossible task
It turns out that when Amazon notices you’re near your instance limit on EC2, they just up it and send you a personal email. Good service.
You can tell how long I’ve been coding by the number of terminals I’ve got open. Currently 30+ between my windows and tabs.
