Just improved Hot Spots in Caliper to identify worst methods, classes & files. Please check it out & send feedback! ex: http://bit.ly/2Exziu
New Caliper: Tool for LOC & code:test ratio, better Hot Spot detection (for methods, classes, & files), & Gitorious support (via @devver)
Awesome Batman Quote (ABQ) 1: “There’s a man here to help you” “Is it Batman?” “He’s a scientist” “Batman’s a scientist.” “It’s not Batman!”
ABQ2: “She’s like Batman for computers.”
I’m such a comics geek: I always love it when TV/movies make jokes about how awesome Batman is.
ABQ3: “Batman doesn’t get picked on, and he wears a cape!” […] “Batman doesn’t get picked on because he’s a muscular genius!”
I knew it would happen, and it finally did: I meant to add a TODO to Things, mixed up my hotkeys, & accidentally tweeted via Tweetie instead
I’m just glad the TODO was nerdy and not overly embarrassing.
refactoring of duplication
Improving Code using Metric_fu – New post on our blog about actionable metrics and improving Ruby code http://bit.ly/1gfyZN (via @devver)
Had planned on going to Code & Coffee at the Cup, but I’m totally wussing out due to the snow. Neither biking nor bussing sounds fun.
We’re very pleased to announce that all http://rdoc.info/ project pages now link to Caliper metrics (and vice versa!) (via @devver)
Geocities is shutting down today & xkcd is commemorating it with a GC design. http://xkcd.com. I still remember @danmayer’s 1st GC page …
On a related note, my friend’s mom wouldn’t let him get internet access for years because of that stupid movie.
I love the videos/slides on InfoQ, but my MBP screen isn’t *quite* tall enough to comfortably view both. Have to keep shifting up/down
Yesterday, I discovered Netflix has ‘Mythbusters’ on streaming. Uh oh.
From th Netflix summary of The Net: “Her vacation is ruined as she struggles to determine why she’s been deleted from society” Not her vaca!
Destroyed calves running yesterday & my forearms today climbing. Need to realize I can’t go from couch potato to athletic in 1 weekend. Ouch
My alarm clock automatically changes for DST, which was great … until they changed the DST dates. Now 4 days/year I wish for dumber clock

Is there punctuation for “Twitter quotes”? i.e. “Somebody else said this, but I’m not quoting verbatim so I can cram it into 140 chars”
Ha: “If u watch reddit backwards, it’s about a 4chan meme archive that eventually turns into an interesting news site as it loses members”
New in Caliper (hosted metric_fu): problem files detection, metric histories, & links to rdoc.info! http://devver.net/caliper (via @devver)

Thinking of being a PHP error for Halloween. I wonder which PHP error is the most slutty. (via @aycaaksu)
twitpoll: Do you use code reviews at your company? If ‘no’, do you use pair programming instead? Just curious (we pair, but rarely review).
Inject viruses that genetically alter neurons of living animal w/ algae genes. Jack in fiber. Control brain w/ light! http://bit.ly/10Im5M

RedLaser has best chance yet to hit #1 paid app (via @jrpowers) Download it or rate it today!
Just realized that the screenshots for @occipital’s #redlaser feature my Emacs book (“my” means I own it, not wrote it). Feel semi-famous.
Cultured Code’s Things is awesome, but I wish there was data export/API. It’d be great to see people build data analysis tools for it.
On the cover of WIRED: “Vaccines don’t cause autism” Thank you! Sad when people endanger children & communities w/ anti-vac myths
Specifically, Things isn’t too great at summarizing items for a weekly review.
Most consumers stuck w/ XP instead of upgrading to Vista. W7 is supposed to fix that. But you can’t upgrade directly from XP to W7? Huh?
(well, you can upgrade, but you have to first move all files to external drive, upgrade, then reinstall all software. Who wants to do that?)
Saw The Wheel open for Paper Bird last night & really liked them. Bought the CD & it seemed quite different from their live show. Bummer.
Just listened (not watched) The Big Lebowski while unpacking office stuff. Tons of fun & a good break from music. Also great for road trips.
4ish months after moving into my apartment, I’m finally done unpacking my office. Feels great.
Haha: Pro tip: ‘git push’ followed by ‘rake test’ is NOT the optimal ordering. (via @erebor)
Returning to work I started two days ago. Reminded again of how great ‘git stash’ is.
Just saw an advertisement for prescription medication to grow eyelashes. WTF.
Our Amazon EBS drive says we have 16GB free, but I can’t write any files (“No space left on device”). Anyone else?
The transition from old-worn out Chucks to brand-spanking new ones is so satisfying.
